Vehicle Dynamics

CSI provides advanced vehicle dynamics testing services, leveraging its own proving grounds and state-of-the-art technologies to support both type approval (homologation) and performance development activities.

A team of highly qualified engineers supports customers in the evaluation, validation, and development of vehicle electronic systems, ensuring reliable results and compliance with international standards.

Main Testing Activities

CSI performs certified testing in accordance with major international regulations:

  • Brake performance tests (ECE R13-H, FMVSS 135, FMVSS 105)
  • ESC – Electronic Stability Control system tests (ECE R140, FMVSS 126)
  • BAS – Brake Assist System tests (ECE R139)
  • TPMS – Tire Pressure Monitoring System tests (ECE R141, FMVSS 138)
  • Spare wheel and temporary spare wheel tests (ECE R64)
  • Steering system tests (ECE R79)
  • Benchmarking and Performance Development

CSI offers vehicle benchmarking services, including:

  • Subjective evaluation (track-based driving assessment)
  • Objective evaluation (instrumented data analysis)

These activities support the definition and optimization of performance targets, improving vehicle safety, stability, and comfort.

Simulation and Virtual Engineering

In addition to physical testing, CSI provides virtual engineering services for vehicle dynamics, using advanced multibody simulation tools such as:

  • MSC Adams
  • Altair MotionSolve

Simulation activities enable the analysis and development of:

  • suspension systems (all configurations and components), validated through test bench activities
  • complete vehicle systems, across various vehicle categories:
  • passenger cars
  • sports cars
  • commercial vehicles
  • motorcycles

The services include virtual bench testing and road simulations, reducing development time and costs.

Know-How and Added Value

CSI’s strong expertise, built through continuous integration with physical testing, enables a unique approach that combines real-world data and simulation models.

This know-how represents a key competitive advantage, allowing for in-depth analysis and the application of proven methodologies developed over many years in the automotive sector.
