Enable communication and connection with vehicles and infrastructure. This is the aim of smart roads, the "intelligent roads" that are now a fundamental element of the new mobility.
The gradual introduction of V2X connectivity - which allows the exchange of information between vehicles and between vehicles and infrastructure, pedestrians and devices - will create a true "technological ecosystem".
In this context, the IMQ Group can support the sector both in verifying compliance with European Directives and with laboratory and track testing activities. CSI offers, at its Bollate headquarters, a protected environment for V2I, V2V and I2X ITS type track tests.
Moreover, the IMQ Group is currently the only Italian company that can offer a test field for the verification of the interoperability of electronic toll devices, set up according to the criteria of accredited laboratories provided for by the ISO 17025 international standard, reinforced by the experience gained by IMQ as a notified body for the EETS European Electronic Toll Service Directive.
In the field of intelligent technologies, IMQ can also offer support for specific tests on DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) technologies and for all the technologies now present in the so-called “smart roads” infrastructures and on vehicles.
The test field is a standardized context, an open-air laboratory that simulates the electronic toll systems present throughout the Italian dealer sector. The purpose of the tests carried out is to verify, at different vehicle transit speeds, whether the technology used in the on-board equipment (OBE) answers all the queries from the track systems.
The track is also used by manufacturers of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) technologies in order to verify the behavior of devices in different traffic scenarios, simulating ordinary driving situations on multi-lane roads with real vehicles.
Finally, the track is also suitable for road tests with fleets of vehicles equipped with tools to detect and record various test parameters in order to verify real installations of electronic toll and ITS infrastructures.
