Virtual Testing – CAE

In the passive safety field, the CAE services does crash simulation with structural and biomechanical evaluation, both on vehicle and components. A strengh point of CAE service of CSI is the strong integration with the experimental areas: for example we can offer work package, for instance passengers protection (FMVSS201, FMVSS214, FMVSS216…), pedestrian protection, restraint system sled evaluation (frontal and lateral), rollover (with vehicle dynamics and biomechanics simulations, supported by the DOE plans).

In the CAE field, CSI works actively in the development of the new EuroNCAP ratings, with its activity in working group, to be always aligned with the new protocols, by participating first hand on its development.

Among the other working groups CSI works in, it should be noted the development of the new leg impactor aPLI (in the Pedestrian Safety Working Group) and Far Side methodologies refinement (in the VTC-Crashworthiness Working Group).

In summary, CSI CAE can support its client both on all the “traditional” areas in the vehicle development and on the “niche” areas (for example rollover and lateral sled) that are enhanced by the know-how acquired in years thanks to the continuous works on the methodological development capable of excellent knowledge of the phenomenon and excellent accessibility of performance and efficiency.

According to the client requests, CSI can provide support using the main FEM and Multibody solvers, like Radioss, LS-Dyna, PamCrash, Madymo and the most popular application of pre and post processing (Hyperworks, Ansa, meta-Post, Animator..).

The CAE service of CSI provides a full support to customers during all the vehicle development phases, from the Concept to the Homogolation/Self-Certification. CSI, known internationally as Euro NCAP laboratory and as a competence hub, with high experienced know-how and skills in the automotive field, offers its experience in the management of turn-key projects with a team of professionals assigned to the project. The BU Conformity Assessment of CSI offers certification, inspection, testing and training services specific for the Automotive Sector. The training courses done by IMQ Group are a reference point in the training and continuing education of professionals and companies technical personeel for years. The cyber security in the automotive field impacts the protection of all the important elements in the vehicle from the treats to the IT safety: a cyber security assessment is required to analyse all the dangers and evaluate risks linked to the exposure to internet of the connected-car.
