Environmental and Energy Efficiency Vehicle Testing

CSI is an official Green NCAP laboratory and has actively contributed to the development of its testing protocol, confirming its role as a trusted partner in vehicle environmental performance evaluation.

Green NCAP, an independent initiative derived from Euro NCAP, promotes the development of clean, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly vehicles, aiming to improve air quality and reduce environmental impact.

Green NCAP objectives

  • Reduction of pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions (CO₂)
  • Improvement of vehicle energy efficiency
  • Evaluation under real driving conditions
  • Support for sustainable mobility

Top ratings are awarded to vehicles that achieve:

  • low emissions
  • high energy efficiency
  • reduced fossil fuel consumption

Testing methodology

The Green NCAP protocol includes:

  • Chassis dynamometer tests (laboratory)
  • On-road testing using PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement Systems)

Rating system

The final rating is based on:

  • Clean Air Index
  • Energy Efficiency Index

The overall result corresponds to the lowest score between the two indices, expressed in Green NCAP stars.
